RULES AND GUIDELINES

GRAND FINALS

MUSIC

Music must be a minimum of two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30) and maximum of three (3) minutes for all divisions. Deduction will be applied to music that is under or over the minimum time.

  • Music may or may not contain lyrics. Combination of several songs is allowed. 

  • When a competitor's music doesn't play fully or skips due to unforeseen error or technical issue, competitors may start the routine from the beginning.

  • Competitor’s final music edit must be sent to this link: https://form.jotform.com/242018731863052 with the filename IAC2024 Music -Name- Category (Example:  IAC2024 Music - Joyen Santos-Professional Pole Category).  Final music must be submitted on or before SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 with a list of songs used.  Song artists must be included.

  • If two or more competitors choose the same music, the competitor who sends their music to the organizers first maintains the privilege to use it. The competitor who sends theirs later must change their music.

  • Only the music sent to the International Aerial Cup organizers on or before the deadline will be accepted and played during the competition.

  • A back-up USB of your music must be brought to the venue on the actual competition date.  

 

POLE STAGE SET UP

  • Two (2) Xpole Competition Pole (Chrome Finish, 45mm in diameter)

    • One (1) Static Pole - Audience Left

    • One (1) Spinning Pole -Audience Right

  • Stage design and complete dimensions are in Appendix A of this file.

 

AERIAL STAGE SET UP

  • The hanging motor for the aerial apparatus will be 7 meters high with 4x high speed motor hoist (16M per minute) and 500kg capacity.

  • Crash Mat with black leather cover (200cm x 200 cm , 9 inches thick) will be provided for all aerial competitors. The use of crash mat is required.  

  • Stage design and complete dimensions are in Appendix A of this file.

  • Before the competitor’s song is played, the apparatus will start low and then rise up. The competitor will give a thumbs up to indicate that the height of the apparatus is at the preferred height.

  • The apparatus can be lowered or raised at any point during the performance as long as there is a person with the competitor who will be in charge of the timing. If that person is not a competitor, they are required to purchase a ticket.  They are also required to be present during the stage blockings.

  • Swinging (in any direction) of the apparatus is strictly prohibited.

  • Competitors are required to bring their own apparatus with carabiner, swivel and certification. Apparatus certification must be uploaded in this link (https://form.jotform.com/242018731863052) on or before September 1, 2024.

  • Competitors hold all liability and risk by using their own apparatus during the competition.

  • An Aerial Hammock, Hoop and Silk will be available on the event day in case of any emergency. 

    • Specifications of Standby Apparatus:

      • Aerial Hammock: 4 meters Length 

      • Aerial Hoop:  Single point - 34mm/1.33in tube diameters, 950mm hoop diameters with 2 meter spanset

DRESS CODE FOR POLE AND AERIAL COMPETITORS

  • No exposure of nipples, anus and organs.  

  • No visible brand logos.

  • Glitters on competitors’ costumes are not allowed.  Sequins, rhinestones and other shiny material is allowed as long as it does not fall off the stage

  • Barefoot, dancing heels, rubber shoes or boots are allowed.

  • It is fine to remove articles of clothing/costume but only until the acceptable dress code.

 

DRESS CODE FOR CLASSIQUE COMPETITORS

  • No exposure of nipples, anus and organs.  

  • No visible brand logos.

  • Glitters on competitors’ costumes are not allowed.  Sequins, rhinestones and other shiny material is allowed as long as it does not fall off the stage

  • Platform Heels or Boots are required.

  • It is fine to remove articles of clothing/costume but only until the acceptable dress code.

 

GRIP AIDS

  • Grip aid may only be used on the body of the competitor.
  Applying grip aid on the pole is not allowed.

  • Gloves are not allowed unless the competitor has a medical condition. Medical documents must be sent to the organizer during the registration.

  • The competitors are not allowed to use any kind of moisturizer or lotion that can make the apparatus slippery.

  • Use of knee pads are allowed.

 

PROPS

  • Props are allowed but subject to approval of the International Aerial Cup organizers. 

  • Send photo/s of your desired props to this link: https://form.jotform.com/242018731863052  on or before September 1, 2024.

  • Use of open flames, pyrotechnics and confetti in the performance is strictly prohibited. 

  • Human props are not allowed.

  • Live animals as props are not allowed.

  • The competitor is responsible for setting up and dismantling props on stage.

 

ETIQUETTE

  • The competitor must agree and adhere to all rules, qualifying and disqualifying moves of the category.

  • The competitor must arrive at the designated time of rehearsals and during the competition day.

  • The competitor must ensure that they have warmed up and stretched properly before performing.

  • The competitor must not consume alcohol or any prohibited substance prior to performing. 

  • There should be no back-up dancers or other people on stage.

  • The competitor must clearly agree that all photography and videos can be used by International Aerial Cup for any promotional, advertising and commercial purposes.

 

STAGE BLOCKING

  • Stage blocking is scheduled the day before the competition – October 12, 2024.  Competitors must arrive on time as we will strictly follow the schedule. 

  • Each competitor will be given 6 minutes to rehearse on stage. Entrance, Exit and Equipment Rigging are included in the allotted time. The competitor is free to utilize their given stage time. 

  • If the competitor misses their allotted schedule, they will not be allowed to rehearse anymore. There will be no special schedule for any competitor. 

  • We encourage everyone to rehearse in costume and light make-up. Our official videographer will be taking shots for our Promotional Video.

  • The schedule of blockings and rehearsal is specified in Appendix B.

 

COMPETITION DAY REMINDERS

  • Competition day is on October 13, 2024.

  • Dinner for competitors will be provided by our generous sponsors. There are food concessionaires available in the venue and nearby establishments for other options. Competitors may also opt to bring their own snacks and drinks.

  • Eating and drinking inside the venue and the dressing rooms are strictly prohibited.  

  • Competitors may only consume food and drinks inside the designated area (Theater Pantry). 

  • Competitors must be in make-up and full costume at least two hours before the program starts.

  • One (1) Make-Up Artist & One (1) Pulley Assistant per competitor are allowed to stay backstage. If they are watching the competition, they are required to purchase a ticket. Please register your official make-up artist, coach/pulley assistant using this link (https://form.jotform.com/242018731863052) on or before September 1, 2024.

  • Competitors must be in their costume during the awarding ceremony.

  • Please be mindful of your personal belongings. The organizers will not be held liable for any lost belongings.

  • The competitor who garners the highest total score from the Professional and Open Division will be hailed as the OVERALL WINNER and will take home the PHP100,000 (~1,800 USD) GRAND PRIZE. The judges' decision is final.

  • Scores will be emailed to the finalists within 5 working days. 

 

PHOTO AND VIDEO

Official Photos and Videos Purchase:

  • Competition Photos:  60 USD per competitor

    • Includes 8 edited photos and 30 original/raw photos

    • Additional edited photos are available for 15 USD each

  • Competition Video:  90 USD per competitor

    • Includes one full angle and one edited video

Restrictions:

  • Competitors are not allowed to hire or bring their own photographers and/or videographers.  The International Aerial Cup Photo and Video team holds exclusive rights to the cover the event.

  • Taking photos with equipment other than mobile phones is prohibited.  Professional cameras are not allowed.  Video recording during the competition is not allowed.

 

COMPETITOR REQUIREMENTS

  • All competitors must provide a personal accident insurance with the following coverage: 

    • Country: Philippines

    • Dates Covered:  October 11-14, 2024. 

  • Insurance must be uploaded to https://form.jotform.com/242018731863052 on or before September 1, 2024
